Balto. County African-American Culture Festival Celebrates 20 Years

The Baltimore County African-American Culture Festival (BCAACF) will celebrate 20 years on Sept. 17 at the Towson Patriot Plaza. The festival is a family-friendly event that chronicles the traditions and customs of the Baltimore County African-American community. Baltimore County is made up of almost 30 percent African Americans.

Students, faculty, staff and community members joined special attendees at the event. Government representatives of the area, including U.S. Senator Ben Cardin, U.S. Congressman John Sarbanes, Maryland State Senator Bobby Zirkin and Maryland State Delegate Adrienne Jones, offered congratulations on the newest addition.

Maryland senator, delegate press Hogan to sign College Affordability Act

Del. Adrienne Jones, speaker pro tem of the House of Delegates, and Sen. Richard S. Madaleno Jr., vice chairman of the Budget & Taxation Committee, held a news conference outside the State House in Annapolis to call for the bill's approval. The lawmakers were joined by a half-dozen students at Maryland universities.
